Create a QR code

Links, Wi‑Fi, contacts, WhatsApp, events, barcodes and more.

How it works

A QR code generator that's free for good

Make a QR code for a website, a Wi‑Fi network, a contact card, a WhatsApp chat, a place on the map, a calendar event, a phone number, an email or a text message. The code updates as you type and downloads as a sharp PNG or a scalable SVG ready for print.

These are static QR codes: the information is stored in the code itself, so they never expire, never stop working when a subscription ends and don't track the people who scan them. Everything is generated in your browser, so what you type never leaves your device.

How to make a QR code

  1. Choose what it opens

Paste a link or text, or pick another type (Wi‑Fi, Contact, WhatsApp, Location, Event, Phone, Email, SMS or Barcode) from the type menu and fill in the fields.

  2. Style it

Pick a color, switch to rounded dots, add your logo and choose a white, transparent or custom background.

  3. Download

Download a PNG up to 2048 × 2048 px, an SVG for print, or copy the image straight into a document.

What you can put in a QR code

  • Links and text

Send people to any web page. Shorten the link first for a simpler code that scans faster, and so you can change where it goes later.

  • Wi‑Fi login

Guests scan and join your network without typing the password. WPA/WPA2/WPA3, WEP, open and hidden networks.

  • Contact cards

Save a name, phone number, email, company and website to the phone's contacts in one scan (vCard).

  • WhatsApp and calls

Open a WhatsApp chat with your number and a message already typed, or start a phone call in one tap.

  • Places and events

Open a location in the phone's maps app, or add an event with its time and place straight to the calendar.

  • Logo, colors and print files

Put your logo in the middle; error correction is raised automatically so the code still scans. SVG scales to any size, PNG goes up to 2048 px.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you make or how often they're scanned.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. The content is stored in the code itself, not on a server, so it keeps working forever. The only way it stops working is if the link inside it stops working.

Can I add a logo to my QR code?

Yes. Open More options and upload an image. The generator switches to the highest error correction (H) so the code still scans with the logo covering its centre.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

Use PNG for screens, documents and social posts. Use SVG for print, signs and packaging, because it stays sharp at any size.

Can I make a WhatsApp QR code?

Yes. Pick WhatsApp from the type menu, enter the phone number with its country code and, if you like, a message. Scanning opens a chat with that number and the message ready to send.

Why won't my QR code scan?

Usually because of low contrast or a light code on a dark background. Keep the code dark on a light background, leave some empty space around it and print it at least 2 cm (about 1 inch) wide.

Can I change a QR code after printing it?

Not the code itself. Put a short link in it instead: you can change where the short link goes at any time, see how many people scanned it, and the printed code keeps working.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Codes are made entirely in your browser, including Wi‑Fi passwords, contact details and uploaded logos, and it works offline once the page has loaded.
