A free URL shortener that stays out of your way
Paste a long link and get a short one in under a second. asus.lol turns messy URLs full of tracking parameters into clean links like asus.lol/otter that are easy to share in messages, bios, slides and print.
There's no account to create and no limit on how many people click your links. Pick your own alias, make a link expire, cap its clicks or lock it with a password, choose how it looks when shared, then see how it performs on its stats page.
How to shorten a link
Paste your link
Paste any web address into the box at the top. Paste several at once, one per line or separated by spaces, to shorten up to 10 in one go.
Set options if you want
Open the options to choose a custom alias, an expiry time, a click limit, a password or the title and image people see when the link is shared. Skip this and you get a random short code.
Copy and share
Copy the short link, or turn it into a QR code with one click. Your recent links stay in this browser so you can edit or delete them later.
Everything a short link needs
Custom aliases
Choose the ending yourself, like asus.lol/launch, so people can read and remember the link before they click it.
Detailed click stats
Add + to any short link to see clicks per day for the last 30 days, top countries, devices, browsers, operating systems and the sites that sent the clicks. Export it all as CSV.
Custom social preview
Set your own title, description and image for when the link is shared on WhatsApp, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack or Discord.
Expiring links
Make a link stop working after an hour, a day, a week or a month, or after a set number of clicks.
Password protection
Visitors have to enter the password before they're sent on. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash.
Edit after sharing
Fix a typo or point an existing short link somewhere new without reprinting or resending it.
Frequently asked questions
Is this URL shortener free?
Yes. Shortening links, custom aliases, click stats, expiry, click limits, password protection, custom previews and the API are all free, with no sign-up.
Do short links expire?
Not unless you want them to. Links without an expiry keep working. You can set a link to expire after 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days, or after a number of clicks.
Can I choose my own short link?
Yes. Open the options and type an alias of 3 to 32 letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores. If it's free, your link becomes asus.lol/your-alias.
How do I see how many clicks my link got?
Add a plus sign to the end of the short link (for example asus.lol/abc123+) to open its stats page with daily clicks, countries, devices, browsers, operating systems and referrers. You can download the numbers as a CSV file.
Can I change how my link looks when shared?
Yes. In the options (or later, under Manage link) set a preview title, description and image URL. Social apps show those instead of the destination's own preview.
Can I change where a short link goes?
Yes, from the browser you created it in. Open the link from your recent links, change the destination and save. The short link stays the same.
Can I shorten many links at once?
Yes. Paste up to 10 links at once, separated by spaces or new lines, and each one gets its own short link. Developers can also use the free API.
Which links can't be shortened?
Links to other URL shorteners, raw IP addresses and anything that isn't a normal web address are refused, so asus.lol can't be used to hide where a link really goes.
